And now for the story portion of the day. I was dreading today because it was the start of two back-to-back double shifts at CK. FML. Much to my surprise, however, I was cut at 12:45 and told to go home until 4. With the nuts and berries meal plan I've been on and after stalking the eggs benedict that was brought to every table during brunch, I decided to deviate from the Middleton diet and head to Dick's Hideaway. There were about 3 open bar stools and for sake of not seeming pathetic by myself (thanks, Alyson for not joining me), I asked a cute guy with a propped up iPad if anyone was sitting next to him. "You are", he said as he pulled my stool out and gave me a million dollar smile. Conversation started right away and I guessed Texas, maybe Alabama with his cute accent. A few minutes later a sassy 58-year-old Susan (yes, she told me her age in the first minute of being seated) sat down on my right. And there it was, my entertainment for the afternoon. Discussion ranged from iPads to boyfriends to owning businesses. My stomach hurt from laughing, this couldn't be any more random. Susan automatically assumed we were together, and the bartender asked if we were on the same tab...seriously people? We just met. Right before Susan left he leaned in to say, "You know we're hanging out after this, right? Can I have your number?". Why the heck not. Happy Saturday people, happy Saturday.

Thank you Dick's for being the scene of the crime. I highly recommend the eggs benedict, scrambled of course.

I've been waiting a long time for this. A chance to muse my daily experiences and simply record what happens in this precious life. I'm excited to share not only my fashion finds, unscripted interactions, and just plain funny stories; but a bit of that collegiate knowledge I'm paying an outrageous out-of-state tuition for. I have to ask myself what I was thinking every time I get into my car to put yet another 75 miles round trip on (take into consideration the internship, our north central location, and the fact that every Monday you bet your sweet tush I'm detouring to get my weekly tips from CK)...but then I remember the goal I set for myself over 10 years ago. I knew, one day, that I'd take back the time I lost and put the past behind me so I could start checking goals off my list. Not just for me, but for the thousands of people who don't get a chance to live the life I live because of accidents far more severe and damaging both physically and mentally. I have one year left until I'm done and I look forward to sharing it with you.
